A Claim on Her Heart

A brothel is no place to call home. Especially, if you are a young woman living a lie in the wild gold rush town of Barkerville. Jolian Grayson is determined to follow her dreams even if the rules of society force her into a life she doesn’t want to live. But keeping up appearances won’t be easy once Cooper Holt stakes a claim on her heart.

Meet Camille

I have always loved to write. Currently, I write historical and contemporary fiction set in British Columbia, Canada. I was born in BC and absolutely love the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Setting my stories here, allows me to share my surroundings with my readers. When I’m not busy working, writing or raising my family, I also sit on the board of the Surrey International Writers’ Conference. It is an amazing conference held on the 3rd weekend in October every year. If you love to read, or want to learn how to write, it is the place to be!

Connect with me on social media or check out the conference at www.siwc.ca

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve thought that there was something noble and mysterious about writing, about the people who could do it well, who could create a world as if they were little gods or sorcerers. All my life I’ve felt that there was something magical about people who could get into other people’s minds and skin, who could take people like me out of ourselves and then take us back to ourselves. And you know what? I still do.

Stories are light. Light is precious in a world so dark. Begin at the beginning. Make some light."

Kate DiCamillo

It is never enough for the reader of your words to be convinced. The goal is to haunt—to have them think about your words before bed, see them manifest in their dreams, tell their partner about them the next morning, to have them grab random people on the street, shake them and say “Have you read this yet?

Ta-Nehisi Coates

Stories have to be told or they die, and when they die, we can't remember who we are or why we're here.

Sue Monk Kidd

Maybe what you’ve written will help others, will be a small part of the solution. You don’t even have to know how or in what way, but if you are writing the clearest, truest words you can find and doing the best you can to understand and communicate, this will shine on paper like its own little lighthouse.

We are all storytellers. We all live in a network of stories. There isn’t a stronger connection between people than storytelling.
